At Biddick Academy we tutor a range of PE and school sport apprenticeship programmes, you can earn as you learn with a PE and School Sport Apprenticeship! As an apprentice you will work four days a week in a school supporting PE and School Sport. One day a week you will undergo training at Biddick Academy to complete an Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership or Supporting Teaching and Learning. As a part of the team of apprentices you will also gain further training and experience via your local School Games Organiser. High Quality Training is delivered by our qualified Teacher team upskilling the Apprentice to give them the knowledge and skill set to lead extra-curricular activities engaging with young people to promote participation and healthy lifestyles. Our Apprentices can support the delivery of Physical Education as well as classroom based activities.
Our programme has been driven by school needs and we work in partnership with local PE networks and School Sports Partnerships. Young people are at the heart of everything we do. Apprenticeships start in September and run for one year. The apprenticeships are available to any age and the application process is now open!
Biddick is a popular and oversubscribed Academy, mainly serving the south of Washington, with around 1100 students on roll. We make a commitment to staffing and as a result we have one of the lowest teacher pupil ratios in the area.
Most of our students have English as a first language; the number of pupils with learning disabilities and the proportion entitled to free school meals are below average.
