Readathon 2020

Last term, all students in Year 7 were invited to take part in a Readathon, a sponsorship challenge designed to improve literacy by encouraging reading for pleasure.

We are delighted to announce that our Year 7 students raised an exceptional £1058.60 with their sponsored read which will go towards supporting children with books and storytelling in hospital.

We are very proud of the reading and sponsorship efforts of our Year 7’s during Readathon. Our students displayed resilience, focus and determination throughout reading voraciously and fundraising heartily. Year 7 tutors were delighted with the effort and commitment from their form class and awarded a special prize to a one student in their form who had gone above and beyond. There was also inter-form competition and 7F were crowned Readathon champions having read the most books as a form during the term. Well done Mrs Potter and 7F!

We would also like to say a special congratulations to Ethan Victory who raised a staggering amount and to Jake Horsham for his excellent fundraising and effort with reading.

Thank you also to parents and carers for your support with Readathon and in supporting your son/daughter with this reading initiative. Please do not hesitate to contact Mr C. Brown in school if you would like any further information about supporting your son/daughter with reading for pleasure.
