Positive Discipline

At Biddick Academy we believe that all members of our Academy should have high expectations of themselves and others, so that all members of our Academy community can live and learn together successfully.

Through our reward culture we celebrate hard work, excellent punctuality and polite, respectful behaviour. We value success in all forms at Biddick Academy where students gain reward points for displaying behaviours, such as:

Excellent effort

Fantastic quality of work

Good attendance

Contributions to the school and community.

These reward points can be redeemed in the student shop, where students will find items such as: stationery, water bottles, sporting items and much more.

We strive for students to meet our high expectations every day; however, there may be occasions where a reminder is required. Positive discipline support students in making the correct choices about their behaviour.

On the rare occasion that a student does not manage to meet Academy expectations, they are given a verbal warning and are advised by a teacher how to correct their behaviour. In the majority of instances, this works straight away. We call this the ‘ten second rule’: students have ten seconds to think, understand the instruction and act upon it. Further details of Positive Discipline are included below. Parents/carers can access their child’s individual record by logging in to Class Charts.

Class Charts is an online system that will enable you to keep up to date with your child’s achievements, behaviour, attendance and homework in real time.

You can download Class Charts at Google Play or the App Store. Alternatively, you can create an account via a PC or Mac browser by clicking on the following link.

If you have any problems accessing Class Charts, please contact the Academy at info@biddickacademy.com so that we can support you.
